For the past year or so, i've been seeing that the atheists, agnostics, evolutionists, muslims, buddhists, etc. as living in Babylon-- having no God awareness or belief at all. And that the Christians of this world are living in Egypt--having an awareness of God and His Son, but not really knowing who They are. As you said in last week's teaching, they aren't only in a physical bondage, but an emotional bondage also. It took Acts of God to release the Israelites from their physical bondage, and from their emotional bondage; and some still held on to Egypt's prosperity.
The ones that truly had a love and heart for YHWH probably weren't the ones complaining about the lack of water and food in the wilderness, or they they had to take on the "giants" in their Promised Land; they were going to trust in Him to provide and protect them. The Christians, nowadays, have such an emotional bondage to the pagan holidays; that it will take an Act or Acts of God to free them. For me, He made the winter solistice day seem more and more useless and not related to God to pull me away. Others may have to go into serious debt, or have a death or injury in the family or to a friend to pull them away; some it will take the Tribulation times, and most probably won't ever pull away. But somehow, the ones that have a true heart for YHWH, He will break the physical and emotional bondage of this world's false teachings (prosperity) and traditions, and open them to the Real Truth, and truly be reborn as Children of God. Then, they will love Him, and strive to the best of their ability to be obedient to His Torah.
Praise be to YHWH!!!
Glenn, Thanks, once again, for your teachings; what a Blessing they are!!!

Shalom Brother;
This was very helpful and comforting to me. Thank you for your wisdom and sharing at this time of year. It truly makes one realize that in fact, nothing is being given up but everything is to be gained. It is not a time of loss but of great celebration. We now know truth, we now know that we have the feasts to celebrate out if our obedience and love for Yaweh.
When you truly live Yaweh, there is no loss, only gain in the heart, mind and soul.
So I personally will go forward looking ahead to building new traditions with my new found brothers and sisters for years to come.
Yaweh has given you a gift and I feel profoundly and divinely favored that you share your gift with the people yearning for truth and hope.
sincerely, your sister, Becca

Throughout this entire story I found that little tree to be VERY,VERY rude.
Even when the larger, mightier trees had long gotten over him.
It seems he just can't/couldn't get over himself!
Soooo glad the foresters finally came along!
Great story ~ Great Lesson...Thanks Glenn!

I don't understand. Job had a experience with Hasatan and that is in the Torah. Isaiah 14 tells how the deceiver fell and Jesus (Yahshua) had an encounter with the devil in the wilderness, and many places in scripture Yahshua had to undo the works of the devil. I know you know all these references so that is why I do not understand what you are saying. I am trying to get on the same page with you and not oppose you as I feel you are a great teacher and student of the Word.

No, I'm saying that the Torah has no understanding of a cosmic Satan as the Church teaches it today. In the Torah YHWH alone is Sovereign. The concept of a created being that rebelled against the Creator was a much later development. The modern understanding of Satan if far far different than anything taught in scripture.

You are correct in your observation. Halal does allow things that are not permitted by the Torah.
The Halal symbol should not be seen as equal to Kosher.

Hi Glenn,
A very logical and easy to follow analysis. Thank you. One question came to mind. I am not at all familiar with the Quran, and laws, but it seems that from the passages you quoted, there are animals, fish and birds that the Quran may allow, but that the Torah says are not-allowed. EG. the Quran seems to imply that if a blessing is said over anything but pork, it is OK to eat(rabbit comes to mind - common in some stores in the US, or on a hunters table). I would assume similar examples for fish like catfish, eel, etc. So just because it is Halal in the supermarket, doesn't mean that it would be suitable to cook up in a Torah observant home. I have heard folks on the permissive side of the debate say that they look for the Halal symbol if there is no kosher-labeled meat available, as that would be closest to our commands in the Torah, and we have the same list of "food". Could you clarify if this is the case?
